Pick three things that that you know will benefit you and make a plan to work on these. First document your assessment of them before you start, and review your progress as you go along. Seeing how you are going keeps you on track and it is easy to get sidetracked with the million other things that are happening in our lives.
Get your trusted crew to have input on this and see how they feel you are progressing as well. Having confirmation from others is not only good for us, it reinforces our own programming as well.
What things do you learn here to help you get better control of your time and workload. Write 3 ways you could say no to someone and feel comfortable about it. Now find small things you can practice this with, non-threatening ones to get into the swing of it. That way if it doesn’t quite work the first time, there are no real consequences for you.
Come up with a few statements on how to say no, without saying no. Example: I would love too help with that but I cant’t right now as I have my own deadline to address. See if you can come up with three to start with.
If you don’t have a problem saying no, then perhaps check to see how that message is being delivered. You may manned to soften the way you do it so you maintain a good rapport. How could you do this?
